AFI Cotroceni
The shop center is located in high proximity to the centre of Bucharest, in Cotroceni neighbourhood, one of Bucharest’s most affluent and desirable residential districts, where the Presidential Palace, the Romanian Parliament and the “Politehnica University” are located. The project is situated at the intersection of two of Bucharest’s main traffic arteries: Timisoara and Vasile Milea Boulevards, which are two of the busiest thoroughfares in Bucharest.
AFI Cotroceni enjoys excellent public transport connections with Politehnica metro stop some 250 meters (M3 line) from the project in addition to 12 different bus and tram lines that service the shopping center. A new Metro line (Drumul Taberei – Universitatii Square– Pantelimon), provides an additional station, “Orizont”, is located 200 meters from the shopping center, towards Timisoara Boulevard, thus making the project the only one in Bucharest to be served by 2 different metro lines and 2 separate metro stops from both entrances of the shopping center.
AFI Cotroceni is the biggest shopping center in Romania, among the biggest in the SEE, and it provides an unique shopping and entertainment experience for the visitors throughout its mix of tenants ( more than 300) and differentiators: the only 3D IMAX in Romania, the biggest indoor Ice Rink opened all year around, Museum of Senses.
The center opened for the public in 2009, it has 90.000 sqm GLA and it attracts 60.000 visitors per day.
Located only 2 km from the city center of Bucharest, with excellent vehicular and public transport connections (2 main subway lines, 12 different buses and tram lines, 2 taxi parking area at both mall entrances) and 3000 parking spaces, the shopping center became a flagship project of the company, a well-known success story and a project that completely revitalized the entire neighborhood.
The mixed-use development also includes 5 Class-A office buildings of 70,000 sqm GLA dedicated mainly to IT&C and BPO companies.
In 2023 AFI Cotroceni received the green certification LEED Gold (Operations & Maintenance) by US Green Building Council. This is a recognition of the quality provided by the mall to its clients and a proof of the sustainable vision in alignment with the company core strategy to develop sustainable green projects.
